My Story

I joined on as a Stallholder in August 2004. Initially attracted to the books, I've since become a firm believer in the Barefoot mission. I love that the founders are bucking the system by remaining an independent bookseller.

Prior to having children, my 'career' was in event planning and fundraising for a museum which focused on educating children. I've been a very content, at-home mom since our first son was born, ten years ago. Stumbling across the Stallholder program has been one of those rare gems of an opportunity. When I joined, I was not sure what I was getting myself into - but it's turning out to be something that I feel so fortunate to have found! My Stallholder journey began as a hobby, but is shaping up to be a wonderful business. Barefoot has provided me many opportunities to tap into my interest in the education of children (other than my own) through fundraisers and community events. My children also have the benefit of growing up Barefoot. They are surrounded by beautiful books, participate in events and are learning how to grow a business right along with me.

Looking ahead, my goals with Barefoot include sharing the books with as many families as possible, giving back to the community by using the books as a fundraising tool and continuing to build a team of Stallholders who can spread the Barefoot message around the country.
